PAIN CLINIC

Chronic and acute pain is debilitating and can decrease the quality of life of your pet. It can also cause impairment of normal activities; therefore, its management is crucial. Our pain management clinic (also known simply as pain clinic) at King Animal Hospital, is led by board-certified specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia Dr. Flavio Freitag.
The pain clinic provides pet owners with tools to quantify the degree of pain their pet is feeling, and how much it is affecting their quality of life.
By utilizing a full physical exam – including comprehensive pain scoring, and reviewing pertinent medical history, it enables the pain clinic team to effectively classify the pets level of pain and create a patient specific treatment plan. By providing advanced pain-relief therapies with various techniques – including ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, epidural or spinal anesthesia, infusion therapies and medication protocols, we are able to support patient comfort and manage acute and chronic pain effectively.
Keeping your pet pain free or greatly reducing their pain levels to improve quality of life is our main goal.
