Los Angeles–based design star Kelly Wearstler's foray into the healthcare sector brings her signature heady, multilayered luxury—most often applied to hospitality and residential projects—to an unusual site: a 60,000-square-foot hospital in King City, Canada, for small animals and equines. Waiting rooms are a symphony of European oak paneling, Venetian plaster walls, brass light fixtures, and custom terrazzo flooring, while the hydrotherapy pool is tiled in the prettiest of pinks, bringing warmth to critical care.
From the outset, King Animal Hospital’s founder, Danielle Scheinberg, envisioned a space that would not only set new standards in veterinary medicine but also redefine the way animals, their caregivers, and veterinary professionals experience a hospital environment. She worked closely with Wearstler to create a design that harmonizes innovation with comfort—an atmosphere where advanced medical care is seamlessly intertwined with warmth and serenity. Every detail, from the tactile richness of the materials to the interplay of natural light, was carefully considered to evoke a sense of tranquility and assurance for clients, staff, and patients alike.
By blending high design with purpose, King Animal Hospital is more than a medical facility—it is a thoughtfully curated space where healing begins the moment you step through the doors.
