DR. LISSIE HENDERSON

Board-Certified Soft Tissue Surgeon

Dr Lissie Henderson graduated with honours from the University of Bristol in 2011. She went on to complete a rotating Internship at the University of Bristol and subsequently worked as a clinical research assistant at the University of Liverpool. During this time she undertook data collection and the analysis for projects and published in several veterinary scientific journals.

Dr Henderson then undertook a surgical internship and residency program in small animal surgery at the University of Edinburgh and became a board-certified Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2020.

Dr Henderson wants to provide the best care possible to her patients. She is passionate about her continued learning and the teaching of veterinary interns and residents. Dr Henderson enjoys all aspects of small animal soft tissue surgery and has a particular interest in endocrine surgery and interventional procedures.

DR. LUCA BRESCIANI

DVM MSC PGCERT

Small Animal Surgeon

Dr. Luca Bresciani is a residency-trained small animal surgeon, joining the surgical team at King Animal Hospital. He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Milan, Italy, and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery from Improve International, accredited by the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS). Dr. Bresciani also completed a Master of Science degree at the university of Bristol, UK.

He underwent specialized residency training in small animal surgery at Langford Vets, University of Bristol, as part of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) program. His clinical expertise spans soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, with a particular focus on emergency procedures.

Dr. Bresciani has contributed to veterinary research, publishing studies on topics such as lumbosacral intervertebral disk extrusions in dogs and advanced urethrostomy techniques.

DR. NOËL MOENS

DVM, MSC, DACVS, DECVS

Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Noël Moens is a small animal veterinary surgeon, specializing in orthopedics. His career began over 30 years ago when he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Liège, Belgium. After working 3 years at the University of Liège, orthopedic service, Dr Moens immigrated to Canada to pursue a surgical residency and a Master’s degree at the University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Moens earned his board certifications from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS). He has been a previous faculty member in the Small Animal Surgical Department at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) before centering his career around a faculty position in Ontario Veterinary College’s (OVC) Small Animal Surgical Department (orthopedic), where he led as Chief of Service for a majority of that time.

Dr. Moens is an experienced veterinary educator and lecturer, regularly speaking at national and international CE events. He is the author of several book chapters and research publications in veterinary orthopedics. He has dedicated his career to teaching veterinary students practical and theoretical knowledge surrounding orthopedics and mentored many surgery residents which have moved onto becoming board certified specialists in the area of veterinary surgery. Dr. Moens brings extensive experience as a researcher and clinician to King Animal Hospital and is looking forward to continuing his gold standard of care to your beloved pets.
